Phytochemical Name : Puerarin

Properties Information
PhytoCAT-ID PhytoCAT-1788
Phytochemical name or plant extracts Puerarin
PMID 22878391
Literature evidence Since the bone absorption marker, serum tartarate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) activity of puerarin-fed mice decreased but the bone formation marker, osteocalcin level, did not alter, the puerarin diet was proved to specifically depress the bone absorption, but not the overall bone metabolism.
IUPAC name 7-hydroxy-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-8-[(2S,3R,4R,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]chromen-4-one
