Potency Our results with purified and fully active bromelain, ananain and papain show a strong reduction of cell proliferation with MDA-MB231 and A2058 cancer cell lines at a concentration of about 1 ?M, control experiments clearly emphasizing the need for proteolytic activity.
Cell line/ mice model MDA-MB-231, A2058, MCF-7
Additional information  The severity of side-effects of HT was reduced by complementary treatment with sodium selenite, plant enzymes (bromelaine and papain) and Lens culinaris lectin. The maximum inhibition on MCF-7 cancer cells (92.37% at 1 mg/mL) was achieved by papain hydrolysis.
